Full S-Professor (W3) on "Software Quality" / Chief Scientist "Quality Engineering"

Tasks

The Department of Computer Science at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin and the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems, FOKUS, jointly invite applications for the position of a Full S-Professor (W3) on “Software Quality” at Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin in combination with the position of a Chief Scientist “Quality Engineering” at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems.

The position will be filled at the earliest possible date.

We are looking for a researcher with an excellent track record in the field of software quality, which includes models and methods to plan, develop, evaluate and improve the quality of software artifacts, possible topics include:

  • Software testing and analysis
  • Specification and verification of software
  • Model-based quality assurance
  • AI methods for software quality assurance
  • Quality-driven software development

for safety-critical, distributed, time-dependent, embedded and/or learning systems.

Requirements

Applicants shall have a strong research background in the area of software quality and be able to acquire and manage research projects in collaboration with the public sector and industry, as witnessed by a respective track record. As the position is combined with a leadership role at the Fraunhofer Institute for Open Communication Systems (FOKUS), applicants shall have experiences in leading a research group.

The position includes teaching, with a notably reduced load, at the Department of Computer Science in the relevant study programs at the Bachelor and Master level. Proven teaching skills are important, with a focus on the area of software engineering.

The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the “Berliner Hochschulgesetz”.
