Full Professorship for Public Law and the Law of the United Kingdom and States of the Commonwealth of Nations Law (W3)

At the Law Faculty for the Centre for British Studies a Full Professorship for Public Law and the Law of the United Kingdom and States of the Commonwealth of Nations Law (W3) is available as of 1st April 2027.

Tasks

The holder of this position (m/f/d) should represent Public Law in its entire breadth with a special research interest in the Law of the United Kingdom and the States of the Commonwealth of Nations Public Law in its interdisciplinary context.

The applicant will be expected to hold credentials in research and teaching in this area of law with a proven research interest which goes beyond the mere reconstruction of established laws and an interest in studying law in its social contexts. Furthermore, the applicant will be expected to take a leading part in teaching on the interdisciplinary MA British Studies programme.

Requirements

The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.

In addition, evidence of outstanding teaching at university level, excellent and interdisciplinary research activity and international networks are requested, as well as experience with knowledge exchange. Language knowledge in English (C1) and German (at the time of application B2) is a requirement.
