Technische Universität Berlin offers an open position:

Research Assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Part-time is maybe possible

Working field:

Project work within the BMBF joint project "QuNET+ICLink" for the implementation of highly efficient single photon sources in secure data transmission with a focus on the realization of experiments for measurement-device-independent quantum key distribution with spatially separated quantum light sources at 1550 nm including fast state preparation using electro-optical modulators. Close cooperation with the project groups at the University of Würzburg and the Fraunhofer IOF in Jena. Supervision and guidance of doctoral students and undergraduates is mandatory.

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diploma or equivalent) and ideally a PhD in applied physics or similar. Comprehensive knowledge and several years of practical experience in quantum optics experiments with semiconductor quantum dots, usually documented by several scientific publications, as well as advanced basic knowledge in the field of quantum information and communication are required. Practical experience in programming with LabView (or similar software) as well as the handling of closed-cycle cryostats and superconducting single photon detectors are desirable. Communication and team skills are expressly welcomed. Good knowledge of German and/or English are required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
