Research Assistant

Your responsibility

  • Conduct independent research and development in wireless communications, with a strong focus on distributed MIMO systems.
  • Design, implement, and evaluate resource allocation schemes, prioritizing approaches grounded in rigorous theoretical foundations.
  • Contribute to scientific publications and support the coordination of project activities in close collaboration with the project partner Fraunhofer HHI.
  • Document and report project progress and results to German (and, more broadly, EU) funding agencies.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Communications Engineering, or a comparable field.
  • Strong knowledge in at least two of the following areas:
  1. Modern tools in convex analysis and fixed-point theory in Hilbert spaces (e.g., (quasi)-nonexpansive mappings, Mann-type iterations, monotone operator theory)
  2. Nonlinear Perron-Frobenius theory
  3. Resource allocation in wireless communications
  • Programming skills: Proficient in at least one widely used programming language in the scientific community (e.g. Python, Matlab).
  • Interest in interdisciplinary research and willingness to collaborate in a dynamic, international team desirable.
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills.
