Research Assistant - 0.5 working-time

Your responsibility

Within a third-party funded research project the TU Berlin will novel lasers and glass encapsulations for laser modules. Efficient assemblies are developed and glass for the packages is laser-structured and laser-welded.

The work at TU Berlin focusses in particular on efficient assembly. In addition, glass for the packages is laser-structured and laser-welded.

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics, photonics, or a comparable field
  • Knowledge and experience in at least two of the following areas:
  1. Laser optics
  2. Assembly and interconnection technology based on glass
  3. Micro-assembly of optical components
  • Good German and/or English skills required; willingness to acquire any missing language skills
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment o Statistical design of experiments (DoE) desirable
  • Structured and independent working style desirable
  • Willingness to take responsibility for assigned sub-tasks desirable
  • Team player with a willingness to document work desirable
