Research Assistant - 0.65 working-time - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Your responsibility

The position involves active research within the interdisciplinary work program of the junior research group ELEVATE. The aim of the group is the socio-ecological evaluation and the future design of innovative aerial applications/drones for transport purposes. Responsibilities include:

  • Independent development of relevant technology-sociological and/or social-psychological research questions related to the use of transport drones in urban and peri-urban contexts
  • Collection of primary data from real-world laboratories affiliated with the research group
  • Stakeholder communication with project and practice partners (e.g., Berlin Senate Administration, affiliated real-world labs)
  • Public outreach and project presentations at conferences, symposia, and workshops
  • Support in the organization and implementation of public participation processes

Your profile

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the field of social science-based technology studies, social psychology, environmental psychology, or a comparable discipline
  • Expertise in the topics of mobility, sustainability, climate, and environment
  • Methodological expertise (qualitative/quantitative) for reflecting on and projecting technology-related dynamics and consequential effects
  • Experience in scientific writing
  • The project languages are German and English, therefore very good knowledge (at least C1 GER) of spoken and written German and at least good knowledge (at least A2 GER) of English are required, as well as a willingness to acquire any missing knowledge.
  • Expertise in the field of unmanned aerial systems (UAS), advanced air mobility (AAM) and autonomous transport desirable
  • Proven experience in collaborative project work, preferably in interdisciplinary or applied research contexts advantageous
  • Expertise in the design and implementation of participatory processes (e.g. public engagement, stakeholder dialogues, citizen science) is preferable
