Full Professorship for History Didactics (W3)
The Department of History of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for a Full Professorship for History Didactics (W3) from 1 October 2025.
Tasks
Applicants are expected to have expertise in history didactics, teacher training and specialized science. Practical experience in and conceptual reflections on digitality in teaching and/or research (one of the focal points of the institute and the faculty) are expected. Experience with or reflections on interdisciplinary challenges (inclusion, democracy education, sustainability) are also desired. Since the position is responsible for teacher training in all types of schools, several years of school experience are a prerequisite.
To be appointed to the professorship at HU Berlin, an outstanding academic personality is desired who can provide a high degree of familiarity with different fields of research fields and methods in historical learning. To fill the professorship at HU Berlin, we are looking for an outstanding academic personality who is familiar with various research fields and methods of historical learning. In addition, we are looking for a person who is profiled in another field of history in addition to history didactics.
Requirements
In addition to a doctorate, further academic achievements are required, which can also be demonstrated in the context of a habilitation or in achievements equivalent to a habilitation. University teaching experience, experience in the acquisition and realization of third-party funded projects are expected. Engagement in the internal academic and self-governing structures of teacher training is desired.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.
