Research Associate (PostDoc) - salary grade 13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 2nd qualification period (Habilitation)

Part time employment may be possible; under the reserve that funds are granted

Tasks

We are Jooking for a person with in-depth knowledge in the field of processing technology of advanced ceramic materials / non-metallic inorganic materials with one or more thematic focuses from the following list:

  • Shaping technology
  • Sintering technology
  • Additive manufacturing by means of extruslon processes or photopolymerization
  • Silicate ceramics
  • Polymer-derived ceramics
  • Stimuli-responsive ceramics or composites

The selected candldate will conduct innovative scientific research by deepening and complementing the already ongoing research and teaching activities of the Chair. Ability to conduct independent research and teaching is required. lt is strongly encouraged and expected that the selected applicant will pursue further qualifications (e.g. ERG application, Emmy-Noether application or similar).

The tasks include:

  • Independent conception, application and coordination of research proposals
  • Supervision of students and doctoral candidates
  • Supervision of the relevant research infrastructure
  • lnitiating, establishing and coordinating collaborations with research institutions and companies as welI as research projects
  • Scientific publications
  • Independent conception, organization, supervision and implementation of courses
  • Coordination of the Bachelor's and Master's degree programs offered by the institute

Requirements

  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent) with a doctorate in the field of materials science, materials engineering, chemistry, physics or a related discipline
  • A profound understanding of non-metallic inorganic materials as evidenced by the topic of the doctorate or scientific publications after the doctorate
  • Profound expertlse in the field of technical ceramics technology / non-metallic inorganic materials, proven by scientific publications, project proposals or supervised theses
  • Proven laboratory experience and experience wlth the use of basic experimental equipment in lhe field of non-metallic inorganic materials
  • Proven excellence in scientific research and method development as evidenced by publications
  • International experience
  • Researcher profile and willingness to apply for and establish an own research group in the future
  • Proven ability and experience to collaborate and communicate effectively with research institutions and companies
  • Proven experience in the conception, organization, supervision and implementation of courses (in particular lectures and laboratory practicals) in German and English
  • Proven experience in the supervision of students and doctoral candidates
  • Proven didactic ability to teach documented by teaching evaluations
  • The ability to teach in German and/or in English is required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Desirable:

  • Proven ability to work independently and in a team
  • Proven organizational, coordination and communication skills
