Technische Universität Berlin - Faculty II - Institute of Theoretical Physics / SFB 910

Research Assistant (PostDoc) - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

Research in the field of non-equilibrium statistical physics of soft matter and related areas. The position is attached to the Collaborative Research Center 910 "Control of self-organizing nonlinear systems: Theoretical methods and concepts of application". It should connect to research in project B2
"Control of dynamical structures and transport in driven colloidal systems” which involves the analysis of classical stochastic systems with feedback via analytical and numerical methods, as well as concepts from stochastic thermodynamics. CIn parallel, collaborations with other projects in the CRC 910 should be advanced.

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) and doctoral degree in physics. Strong background in theoretical physics, in particular, statistical physics, is essential. Experiences with analytical and numerical methods for non-equilibrium soft condensed matter and stochastic systems are advantageous. Independent work style and high level of commitment. Good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected.

How to apply:

Please send your application with the reference number and the usual documents (in a single pdf file, max 5 MB) only by email to

By submitting your application via email you consent to having your data electronically processed and saved. Please note that we do not provide a guaranty for the protection of your personal data when submitted as unprotected file. Please find our data protection notice acc. To ensure equal opportunities between women and men, applications by women with the required qualifications are explicitly desired. Qualified individuals with disabilities will be favored. The TU Berlin values the diversity of its members and is committed to the goals of equal opportunities.
