Work­ing field:

Assist­ance in research and teach­ing, includ­ing the fol­low­ing duties and respons­ib­il­it­ies:
  • Con­duct­ing research on the use of Big Data and AI in the field of autonom­ous driv­ing, par­tic­u­larly in rela­tion to fea­tures to increase vehicle safety
  • Devel­op­ing approaches to enable autonom­ous vehicles to learn both inde­pend­ently and in pla­toons
  • Invest­ig­at­ing the approaches with regard to explain­ab­il­ity, repro­du­cib­il­ity and robust­ness
  • Imple­ment­ing the approaches in a test vehicle
  • Test­ing the approaches on a vehicle-in-the-loop test bench and on a test­ing ground
  • Provid­ing advice and guid­ance to stu­dent assist­ants
  • Pre­par­ing reports and present­a­tions
  • Teach­ing the­or­et­ical and prac­tical exer­cises in vehicle mechat­ron­ics and/or vehicle con­trol engin­eer­ing
  • Con­duct­ing exam­in­a­tions
  • Super­vising Bach­elor’s and Mas­ter’s theses


  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in Inform­at­ics (AI, Com­puter
Vis­ion, Big Data), Mechat­ron­ics / Con­trol Engin­eer­ing, Auto­mot­ive Engin­eer­ing, Elec­trical Engin­eer­ing,
Mech­an­ical Engin­eer­ing or related stud­ies
  • Very good know­ledge of Big Data and AI, con­trol engin­eer­ing, mod­el­ling and sim­u­la­tion (MAT­LAB/Sim­ulink), and pro­gram­ming (required)
  • Exper­i­ence in real-vehicle test­ing (desir­able)
  • Exper­i­ence in test bench and meas­ure­ment tech­no­logy (advant­age­ous)
  • Pro­ject exper­i­ence (advant­age­ous)
  • Very good com­mu­nic­a­tion skills in Ger­man, both writ­ten and spoken (required)
  • Good Eng­lish lan­guage skills (required)
