The suc­cess­ful can­did­ate will be respons­ible for estab­lish­ing con­tact with regional act­ors in the Laus­itz, such as LEAG, LBMV. He/she will work on the eval­u­ation of remote sens­ing data on soil mois­ture and the LAI in the area of recul­tiv­ated lig­nite pits, such as Welzow, in Branden­burg. The can­did­ate will be respons­ible for set­ting-up water bal­ance mod­els and plant growth mod­els at the catch­ment area scale and scen­ario sim­u­la­tions with respect to changes in land use and cli­mate. Finally, based on the land use scen­ario vir­tual water fluxes will be estim­ated.

• suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) of geosciences with a focus on hydro­geo­logy
• exper­i­ence in hydro­lo­gical mod­el­ing
• exper­i­ence in eval­u­at­ing remote sens­ing data
• know­ledge of the regional hydro­geo­logy of Branden­burg

Addi­tional skills:

• good know­ledge of Eng­lish and Ger­man lan­guage
• know­ledge of geo­s­tat­ist­ical meth­ods
• good skills and exper­i­ence to present research res­ults
