The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing contact with regional actors in the Lausitz, such as LEAG, LBMV. He/she will work on the evaluation of remote sensing data on soil moisture and the LAI in the area of recultivated lignite pits, such as Welzow, in Brandenburg. The candidate will be responsible for setting-up water balance models and plant growth models at the catchment area scale and scenario simulations with respect to changes in land use and climate. Finally, based on the land use scenario virtual water fluxes will be estimated.
