The newly established bridging professorship "Knowledge Dynamics and Sustainability in the Technological Sciences" interlinks philosophical reflection with questions of the technological sciences throughout the university. In interdisciplinary teaching, the professorship is dedicated to the challenges of knowledge dynamics through digital transformation in the face of new modelling and simulation processes, machine learning and AI, big data applications or digital manufacturing processes. In addition, it addresses issues of new and emerging technologies with respect to principles of sustainability, responsible design and technology assessment. Research focuses on three mayor fields: 1. the philosophy of technology and engineering sciences, 2. the ethics of new and emerging technologies, and 3. design research and design theory.

Participation in teaching and research of the professorship "Knowledge Dynamics and Sustainability in the Technological Sciences". This includes, among others:
Participation in one of the three research foci of the professorship through research and publication activities
Participation in teaching according to LVVO
Supervision of Bachelor and Master students
Participation in the preparation and organisation of workshops and conferences
Successfully completed academic university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent), with a focus on philosophy or cultural studies of technology
Knowledge of science and technology research as well as philosophy and ethics of technology
Experience in empirical research is an advantage
Interdisciplinary study profile and knowledge of science communication an advantage
Enjoyment of interdisciplinary collaboration
Ability to teach in German and English language
Didactic aptitude and commitment to teaching
Experience in the implementation of interdisciplinary courses is an advantage
Ability to work in a team and a high degree of independence
