The Department of German Studies and Linguistics of the Faculty of Language, Literature and Humanities invites applications for a
Full Professorship for „History of German Language: Language Change“ (W3)
from 1 April 2022.
The professorship represents the history of German language with special emphasis on processes of language change in research and teaching and is internationally recognized in research on that topic with both theoretical and empirical orientation. The to-be-appointed candidate will represent these areas in the study programs of the B.A. German Linguistics, B.A. Historical Linguistics, B.A. German, M.A. Linguistics, M.A. Historical Linguistics and in mentoring young researchers. Participation in the SFB 1412 (Collaborative Research Center) "Register" (https://sfb1412.hu-berlin.de/de/) is expected. Great importance is attached to the candidate’s ability to contribute to the SFB as well as to cooperate with the linguistic professors of the institute, the faculty and the Leibniz-Centre General Linguistics (ZAS, https://www.leibniz-zas.de).
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of ’Berliner Hochschulgesetz’.
