Ten­ure-Track-Pro­fess­or­ship, remu­ner­a­tion group W1, fixed term, to be con­tin­ued as a life­time pro­fess­or­ship, remu­ner­a­tion group W2

in "Edu­ca­tional Sci­ence - Teach­ing and Learn­ing in the Migra­tion Soci­ety".

The ten­ure track pro­fess­or­ship is ini­tially lim­ited to three years. The pos­i­tion shall be renewed for a fur­ther three years con­di­tional upon the pos­tholder’s per­form­ance and agree­ment. After six years, as a rule, a lifelong pro­fess­or­ship will be offered con­di­tional upon the ful­fill­ment of the determ­ined eval­u­ation cri­teria and hir­ing require­ments for a lifelong pro­fess­or­ship. Work­ing field:

The future pos­i­tion holder will rep­res­ent the area of "Edu­ca­tional Sci­ence - Teach­ing and Learn­ing in the Migra­tion Soci­ety" across teach­ing and research and will be act­ively par­ti­cip­at­ing in inter­dis­cip­lin­ary exchanges within the depart­ment, the fac­ulty and the uni­versity. The pos­i­tion holder will cover the fol­low­ing research areas of inter­cul­tural and migra­tion-related pro­fes­sional and school devel­op­ment in a data-based way:
  • Iden­ti­fic­a­tion of new require­ments for the pro­fes­sional pro­file of teach­ers and spe­cial­ists in edu­ca­tional work in the con­text of migra­tion-related school change
  • Iden­ti­fic­a­tion of edu­ca­tion­ally appro­pri­ate, diversity-sens­it­ive teach­ing/learn­ing arrange­ments and suc­cess­ful con­di­tions for their sus­tain­able imple­ment­a­tion
  • Iden­ti­fic­a­tion of inter­cul­tural and migra­tion-related pro­fes­sional and school devel­op­ment through sys­tem­atic net­work­ing in regional and local edu­ca­tion areas.
Before the interim eval­u­ation, teach­ing respons­ib­il­it­ies amount to 4 hours of lec­tures and sem­inars per week, after the interim eval­u­ation they amount to 6 hours of lec­tures and sem­inars per week. These are primar­ily to be provided in the edu­ca­tional sub-pro­grammes of the Mas­ter's teach­ing degree pro­grammes (work stud­ies and voca­tional edu­ca­tion) as well as in the BA degree pro­gramme "Cul­ture and Tech­no­logy (core sub­ject: edu­ca­tional sci­ence)" and in the Mas­ter's degree pro­gramme "Edu­ca­tional Sci­ence - Con­sult­ing and Organ­iz­a­tional Devel­op­ment". Fur­ther­more, act­ive par­ti­cip­a­tion in gen­eral edu­ca­tion mod­ules as well as in teach­ing col­lab­or­a­tions with other rel­ev­ant sub­ject areas of the depart­ment is expec­ted. Courses should be taught in Eng­lish and Ger­man.

Require­ments:

The can­did­ate must ful­fill the hir­ing require­ments pur­su­ant to Sec­tion 102c Ber­lin State Higher Edu­ca­tion Act in com­bin­a­tion with Sec­tion 102a Ber­lin State Higher Edu­ca­tion Act. Of par­tic­u­lar import­ance are a uni­versity degree in edu­ca­tional sci­ence or a related sub­ject, a strong aptitude for research demon­strated, as a rule, by an out­stand­ing doc­tor­ate in edu­ca­tional sci­ence as well as teach­ing skills demon­strated by a teach­ing port­fo­lio (for fur­ther inform­a­tion about the port­fo­lio, see Tech­nis­che Uni­versität Ber­lin’s web­site, quick access 144242). Exper­i­ences in empir­ical research, which under­stands itself as the­ory-gen­er­at­ing, are expec­ted. The pre­requis­ite is a focus in the area of empir­ical research on edu­ca­tion in the migra­tion soci­ety. In addi­tion, the pro­ject expects an adept­ness in the edu­ca­tional-sci­entific reflec­tion of het­ero­gen­eity and diversity. We expressly wel­come cor­res­pond­ing pub­lic­a­tions in rel­ev­ant journ­als with qual­ity assur­ance and cor­res­pond­ing con­fer­ence con­tri­bu­tions as well as exper­i­ence in the acquis­i­tion and imple­ment­a­tion of third-party fund­ing pro­jects and an inter­na­tional ori­ent­a­tion. Exper­i­ence in teacher train­ing is also wel­come. Very good eng­lish lan­guage skills and excel­lent ger­man lan­guage skills are neces­sary or altern­at­ive the abilty to acquire those skills in a appro­pri­ate time.
