Work­ing field:

The­or­et­ical and numer­ical research on the aggreg­a­tion dynam­ics and self-organ­isa­tion in com­plex col­loidal and act­ive flu­ids based on meth­ods from stat­ist­ical phys­ics, par­tic­u­larly com­puter sim­u­la­tions (Brownian dynam­ics) and Markov-state mod­el­ling. The DFG-fun­ded research will be car­ried out within the group of Prof. Klapp ( A PhD degree can be obtained.


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in phys­ics; very good know­ledge in the­or­et­ical phys­ics, in par­tic­u­lar in the field of stat­ist­ical phys­ics (espe­cially soft mat­ter); good pro­gram­ming skills are neces­sary; highly inde­pend­ent and com­mit­ted work atti­tude; exper­i­ences with many-particle sim­u­la­tion are very wel­come; good com­mand of Ger­man and/or Eng­lish required; will­ing­ness to learn either Eng­lish or Ger­man is expec­ted.
