Work­ing field:

The job duties and respons­ib­il­it­ies include teach­ing and research in the area of air­craft design as well as the super­vi­sion of stu­dent degree theses. Teach­ing will be required in the exist­ing Bach­elor and Mas­ter courses, pre­dom­in­antly in the Ger­man lan­guage: Flug­zeu­gent­wurf I & II“, „Flug­zeu­gent­wurf III“, „Aus­gewählte Kapitel im Luftfahrzeug­bau“. The research activ­it­ies shall focus on the mul­tidiscip­lin­ary design of air­craft and other air vehicles using numeric sim­u­la­tion envir­on­ments.


  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted engin­eer­ing stud­ies (dip­loma, mas­ter or equi­val­ent) with a focus on air­craft design and devel­op­ment
  • In-depth know­ledge of gen­eral air­craft design and know­ledge of related dis­cip­lines (aero­dy­nam­ics, air­craft engines, flight mech­an­ics)
  • Exper­i­ence in/suit­ab­il­ity for and enjoy­ment of aca­demic teach­ing - pre­dom­in­antly in Ger­man
  • Know­ledge and exper­i­ence in the exe­cu­tion and man­age­ment of pro­jects
  • Very good IT and pro­gram­ming skills (e.g. Python, Mat­lab, C++)
  • Ger­man lan­guage level C1 and good writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish (min. B1)

  • Exper­i­ence in good sci­entific prac­tice
  • Exper­i­ence in pro­ject man­age­ment
  • Exper­i­ence with sim­u­la­tion soft­ware for air­craft design, e.g. PACELAB APD, MIC­ADO, PrADO, PAD­LAB as well as in the areas of numer­ical sim­u­la­tion and mul­tidiscip­lin­ary optim­iz­a­tion
  • Will­ing­ness toward con­tin­ued edu­ca­tion in didactics
  • Abil­ity to work in a team, reli­ab­il­ity, inde­pend­ent work­ing method, com­mu­nic­a­tion skills
  • Will­ing­ness to cooper­ate in aca­demic self-admin­is­tra­tion
