Research and teaching at the Institute of Mathematics, in particular in the field of applied mathematics with a focus on mathematical methods in image and data science, in particular vector- and manifold-valued image processing and its applications; research will focus on some of the topics transport, LDDMM, metamorphosis, approximation of measures, neural networks, processing of vector- and manifold-valued data; teaching assistance (4 SWS for a full-time position) in mathematics and related topics at the Institute of Mathematics, e.g. supervising of students and their scientific theses.
successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in mathematics
in-depth knowledge in the field of functional analysis (ideally also in Fourieranalysis), and nonlinear optimization as well as convex analysis
knowledge on the estimation of motion in image sequences (in particular in connection with optimal transport)
practical experience in software development in several common programming languages like e.g, C, C++, Python
