Work­ing field:

At the Chair of Food Bio­tech­no­logy and Food Pro­cess Engin­eer­ing you will lead the work­ing group Bio­ther­mo­fluid­dy­nam­ics. Thus, your task will be to apply for, coordin­ate, and guide research pro­pos­als focus­ing on basic research and applied research. Those pro­pos­als are sup­posed to be loc­ated at the inter­face between food bio­tech­no­logy, multiscale product/pro­cess ana­lysis and design, and bio­ther­mo­fluid­dy­nam­ics. The duties in research and teach­ing con­tain pro­cess engin­eer­ing/tech­no­lo­gical design and pro­cess optim­iz­a­tion incl. flu­id­mech­an­ical-numer­ical as well as exper­i­mental invest­ig­a­tions.


Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) as well as above aver­age dis­ser­ta­tion in the field of bio­ther­mo­fluid­dy­nam­ics. The ori­ent­a­tion of the pos­i­tion is loc­ated in the dis­cip­lines food tech­no­logy, com­pu­ta­tional engin­eer­ing, pro­cess engin­eer­ing or com­par­able dis­cip­lines. Cor­res­pond­ing expert­ise in the field of com­pu­ta­tional fluid dynam­ics as well as in the field of exper­i­mental meth­ods in fluid mech­an­ics and bio pro­cess engin­eer­ing are required. Expert­ise in teach­ing, pro­ject man­age­ment and pro­ject acquis­i­tion of sci­entific research pro­jects and know­ledge of the fund­ing land­scape in food tech­no­logy are deman­ded. High will­ing­ness to cooper­ate as well as the will­ing­ness and skills for inde­pend­ent, inter­dis­cip­lin­ary work at the inter­face between food tech­no­logy, pro­cess engin­eer­ing, fluid mech­an­ics and com­pu­ta­tional fluid dynam­ics are required.
Suf­fi­cient lan­guage pro­fi­ciency to teach classes in both Ger­man and Eng­lish is expec­ted.
