The newly established, international Research Training Group 2544 (Graduiertenkolleg) on
"Stochastic Analysis in Interaction" is a collaborative venture of TU Berlin, HU Berlin, FU Berlin and WIAS in collaboration with the University of Oxford, UK, aiming at research training in the vibrant area of Stochastic Analysis.
Our PhD projects in stochastic analysis span from fundamental mathematical questions to applications in Biology, Data Science and Statistics, Finance, and Physics. Jointly supervised by leading experts from Berlin and Oxford, the Berlin IRTG students will form a team with a similarly large number of students on the Oxford side, supported, e.g., by the Centre for Doctoral Training "Mathematics of Random Systems".
successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Mathematics or closely related disciplines
strong knowledge of stochastic analysis
good command of English or German, together with good academic writing and presentation skills required; the willingness to learn either English or German is expected
eagerness to engage in exchange with Oxford partners, also during a six months research visit in Oxford
