Research Assist­ant - 0.67 work­ing time - salary grade E 13 TV-L Ber­liner Hoch­schu­len - 1st qual­i­fic­a­tion period (PhD can­did­ate)

Work­ing field:

  • Teach­ing and research in urban design and urban devel­op­ment, espe­cially urban design stu­dio teach­ing for BA Archi­tec­ture, MA Archi­tec­ture, MA Urban Design, MA Archi­tec­ture Typo­logy stu­dents, with the focus: urban ana­lysis and design meth­ods, con­cep­tual think­ing, cross-scale integ­rat­ive plan­ning, modes of cooper­at­ive plan­ning, par­ti­cip­a­tion, urban mod­els and the­or­ies (basics), inform­a­tion and com­mu­nic­a­tion tech­no­lo­gies in urban design and devel­op­ment
  • col­lab­or­a­tion in local and inter­na­tional research and teach­ing pro­jects in this field
  • pre­par­a­tion of work­shops, lec­tures, con­fer­ences, exhib­i­tions and pub­lic­a­tions


  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted sci­entific uni­versity stud­ies (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in archi­tec­ture and/or urban design with a proven focus on urban design and urb­an­iz­a­tion.
  • pro­fes­sional exper­i­ence in the con­cep­tion of urban design pro­jects, prac­tical exper­i­ence pre­ferred
  • very good design and graphic skills
  • exper­i­ence with digital media in plan­ning and design
  • very good didactic, com­mu­nic­at­ive and man­age­ment skills
  • con­fid­ent writ­ten and spoken com­mu­nic­a­tion in Ger­man and Eng­lish, the abil­ity to be able to teach in Ger­man and Eng­lish is expec­ted.
Desired qual­i­fic­a­tions:
  • exper­i­ence in sci­entific writ­ing (f. e. sci­entific and pro­fes­sional journ­als, research applic­a­tions)
  • teach­ing exper­i­ence
  • pub­lish­ing exper­i­ences
  • exper­i­ence in cooper­at­ive and par­ti­cip­at­ory urban devel­op­ment pro­ced­ures
