The successful applicant will cover Mathematics with a focus on Arithmetic and Geometry in research and teaching.
Apart from the official duties in accordance with Article 99 of the Berlin Higher Education Act, we expect the appointee to engage in the following activities:
She or he will participate in the Berlin Mathematical School (BMS) and actively engage in teaching, especially including the teacher education programs. The new professor is also expected to address gender and diversity aspects in teaching.
Appointment requirements are governed by Article 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz).
The successful candidate should have an excellent track record of international research activities with research foci in a current field of Algebraic Number Theory and/or Arithmetic Geometry. Furthermore, she or he should have relevant teaching experience in an international environment and experience in acquiring and leading externally funded research projects.
