Work­ing field:

Subject to approval by the Deutsche Bundesstiftung Umwelt, a position is being advertised to work on a research project in the field of wind energy, species protection and spatial planning at the Environmental Assessment and Planning Research Group at TU Berlin.
The tasks to be performed are mainly GIS-based modeling of habitat use of certain bird species in Germany as well as the analysis and comparison of different approaches to the designation of focal areas in spatial planning. For this purpose, a literature and document search and analysis must be carried out, geodata must be acquired, and a corresponding model must be developed in a GIS. The work includes the presentation and documentation of the work, if necessary, also in scientific publications and at conferences as well as the cooperation with other project partners.


  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in environmental or landscape planning, urban and regional planning, or a related field
  • Experience in working with GIS
  • very good knowledge of German and English (both written and spoken).
  • Interest in working on scientific issues in a team
Desirable Requirements:
  • sound knowledge of one or more oft he following topics: renewable energies, explicitly wind energy and environmental planning/assessments
  • experience in the acquisition of geodata in Germany
