Work­ing field:

Production management is currently undergoing a fundamental change. On the one hand, the opportunities offered by digitalization and connectivity within the value chain are constantly growing, while on the other hand, companies are facing a more and more complex and volatile environment. Integrated in an interdisciplinary team, you will develop and evaluate methods and instruments of Industry 4.0 that enable companies to achieve economic, ecological and social goals. Within the joint research project HyMAS (Hybrid multi-agent system for self-controlling steel production) you will cooperate with national and international research partners from science and industry and contribute to the dissemination of your results.

In an attractive working environment, your most central responsibilities will be:
  • implementation of the research project HyMAS,
  • the publication of research results, and their
  • presentation at national and international conferences.
In teaching, you can expect many opportunities to get involved in innovative formats of in-classroom and online teaching. Your focus will be on the further development of lectures and learning games, the preparation, implementation and coordination of exercise sessions and tutorials as well as the supervision of seminar papers, projects and final papers. You will also be involved in the department’s organizational activities.

Require­ments:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Industrial Engineering, Management Science, Operations Research or comparable
  • In-depth knowledge of production management, preferably with interest in approaches to decentralized decision-making in multi-agent systems, production planning and control and / or energy flexibility
  • Very good knowledge of quantitative techniques for the modelling and analysis of operational problems (simulation, optimization, data analysis and visualization) as well as their implementation in suitable software (e.g. Aimms / Julia JuMP, Anylogic / Plant Simulation)
  • Very good written and spoken German and English skills
  • Professional and self-reflected work attitude
  • Ability to work in a team in an interdisciplinary and international environment
