Work­ing field:

The project BioVal- Biodiversity Valuing & Valuation analyses how enterprises of the food sector are able to take into account their impact on biodiversity along the whole production chain and design measures to strengthen it. The project is carried out as a ‘real world lab’ in cooperation between natural and social scientists as well as with entrepreneurs from the food sector. The job holder is expected to support the inter- and transdisciplinary cooperation process with formative evaluation. In workshops it will be aimed at a joint understanding of the goals and the intended impacts of the project as well as reflected how possible risks can be prevented. The quality of the research process will be reflected periodically and a monitoring will be carried out to be able to adapt the process if necessary.

Further informations:


  • Successfully completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in social sciences, PhD desirable
  • Experiences with qualitative (formative) evaluation and the moderation of heterogeneous groups, preferably of inter- and transdisciplinary research groups
  • Experiences with carrying out transdisciplinary research or reflection of transdisciplinary methods
  • Interest in or experiences with the topic of biodiversity preservation in the food sector
  • Experiences with scientific publications are desirable
  • Very good spoken and written German and English language skills are required
