Work­ing field:

Collaboration in teaching and research activities of the department and in the research project "Long-Term Scenarios for the Transformation of the German Energy System" on behalf of the Federal Ministry for Economic and Energy (BMWi), as well as in the research project "TransHyDE: H2-Transport" funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), where we analyze the requirements and contributions of gas infrastructure for a climate-neutral energy supply.

  • Literature research and basic evaluation, preparation and application of network and market models for power and gas
  • Communication with stakeholders and project partners, project implementation, documentation and organization, as well as communication with the contracting entities, project management organizations, the funding agencies and the research department of Technische Universität Berlin
  • Scientific implementation and evaluation, publishing the results in professional journals and project and conference proceedings
  • Support in the implementation of oral and written exams, assistance in and supervision of bachelor and master theses, independent transfer of professional knowledge and skills and tuition in the application of scientific methods in German and English language
  • Survey of existing teaching materials and curricula, development of teaching materials and curricula especially for online teaching

Require­ments:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) preferably in industrial engineering and management with a focus in the energy sector
  • Commitment, creativity together with communicative and social skills,
  • Combination of independent scientific research interests and pronounced ability to work in a team
  • Very good German and English language skills; sufficient language proficiency to teach classes in both German and English is expected
  • In-depth IT-knowledge and programming experience, preferably Python or similar
  • Experience in modeling power and gas markets and networks as well as knowledge in GIS and database management are desirable
