Work­ing field:

The Process Dynamics and Operations Group is looking for a new colleague for participation in research and teaching. Specific tasks within the project are:
  • Further development and application of optical measurement techniques (such as PIV, PTV) for velocity field and concentration fields in liquid films and rivulets
  • Supervision of theses (Bachelor, Master)
  • Conducting measurement campaigns in the field of liquid film flows and rivulets
  • Organization and conduction of seminars complementary to lectures

The department is based in chemical engineering, but candidates from other engineering disciplines or backgrounds are always welcome. Regarding the described position, we are interested in colleagues with the following qualifications and interests:


  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a suitable discipline
  • Good to excellent knowledge in chemical engineering, especially in momentum and mass transfer, especially in rivulet and film flow, are mandatory
  • You have prior knowledge in the areas of optical measuring methods such as particle image velocimetry, planar laser induced fluorescence or particle tracking
  • Good programming skills (e.g. Matlab or python) are expected
  • We are a very international team. Hence, language skills in English are always of help and we expect you are willing to learn German
  • Autonomous, well organized applicants are preferred
