Work­ing field:

The research topic lies in the interdisciplinary research field of fungal-based biomaterials. These materials will be produced biotechnologically and analyzed regarding material properties. Modeling and specific modification of material properties to will be addressed using systems biology, molecular biology, bioprocess engineering and bioinformatics approaches. Additionally, the job holder is expected to actively participate in teaching courses for BSc and MSc students studying biotechnology. This includes, the organization and continuous optimization of digital and hybrid courses (lectures, seminars, practical courses).

Require­ments:

Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in the field of biotechnology with a proven focus on microbiology, molecular biology and bioprocess engineering
Desired knowledge and skills
Expertise in genetic analysis and transformation of fungi, fungal systems biology (genomics, transcriptomics, metabolomics, gene networks), purification and analysis of fungal metabolites, in vivo imaging using protein tagging and fluorescence microscopy, applied bioinformatics, and experience in controlled bioreactor fermentation of fungi; good command of spoken and written German and English
