Work­ing field:

The research project "NUDAFA" - which is funded by the Federal Ministry of Education and Research - aims to support the design of the mobility transition in small and medium-sized surrounding municipalities. Based on a cycling initiative, the three Brandenburg municipalities of Eichwalde, Schulzendorf and Zeuthen have joined forces to promote cycling across municipal boundaries. These activities are accompanied by an interdisciplinary consortium consisting of TH Wildau, FixMyCity and TU Berlin. The aim of the research project is the participatory testing of innovative, data-based, implementation-oriented and agile planning tools.

In concrete terms, the aim is to develop and implement measures for promoting cycling, road safety, upgrading public space and increasing safety on the way to school together with the heterogeneous stakeholders. The mobility concept is intended to bring together the different needs of users in a participatory and integrated way, taking into account different modes of transport and mobility requirements, and thus to shape the mobility turnaround in small and medium-sized municipalities in the surrounding areas.

The working field includes:
  • Implementation of a goal-setting process together with all project partners and participants
  • Policy field analysis: accompanying political and social science research
  • Restriction analysis, workshop & strategy development
  • Implementation of expert interviews and focus groups
  • Process evaluation of inter-municipal cycling concept & cycling management
  • Final evaluation & process optimisation with the municipalities


  • Successfully completed academic university studies (diploma, master's degree or equivalent) in transportation, regional and urban planning, political sciences or a related field is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of the topics of mobility, transport and integrated planning is required.
  • Sound knowledge in theory and application to qualitative and quantitative methods is required.
  • Experience with participatory processes and methods is required.
  • Good communication skills and business fluent German language skills are required.
  • Experience in implementing projects with civil society initiatives and public administration, among others, is desired.
  • Good knowledge of English is desirable.
