For fully automatic train operation and for optimised operations, both the trains and the infrastructure must be diagnosed. This also includes forecasting the remaining lifetime of the systems. In the third-party funded research project BerDiBa - Berliner Digitaler Bahnbetrieb (Berlin Digital Train Operation), modern procedures for diagnosis and remaining lifetime estimation are to be researched using machine learning methods, especially for the rails and individual train components. In addition to the diagnostic procedures, a digital twin will be researched, for which models must be developed.
successfully completed scientific university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in electrical engineering, computer engineering science, automotive systems design, automotive engineering, mechatronics, mechanical engineering, physical engineering sciences, computer science or computational engineering science.
good to very good knowledge of German; good to very good knowledge of English.
good to very good knowledge: Technical diagnosis, statistics and stochastics, machine learning, mechatronics, Modelling and simulation, programming in Python, C and MATLAB
