As part of the federal and state program for the advancement of junior scholars, Technische Universität Berlin, Faculty VI - Planning Building Environment - Institute of Urban and Regional Planning currently has a vacancy for a
Tenure-Track-Professorship, remuneration group W1, fixed term, to be continued as a lifetime professorship, remuneration group W3,
in “Social Cohesion, Diversity and Migration in Spatial Planning”.
The professorship should represent the aspects of social cohesion, diversity, and migration in urban and regional planning in research and teaching. Using theory and practical examples, the professorship should examine the social foundations, framework conditions, and control capabilities of socio-spatial compatible planning and urban development. Applicants are expected to have knowledge in two of the following topics:
Space-related marginalization and exclusion processes and aspects of the further development of infrastructures as goods and services of public services
Spatial characteristics and consequences of increasing socio-cultural and socio-economic diversity and pluralization of lifestyles in cities for spatial planning
Gender and diversity-compatible planning and intercultural urban development practice
The development of at least one other field is expected and will be taken into account when defining the evaluation criteria.
Teaching responsibilities are to be fulfilled in the Urban and Regional Planning as well as Urban Design degree programs in both German and English.
The position holder is further required to undertake additional teaching duties within the faculty as well to perform duties relating to academic self-administration.
Applicants must be able to conduct teaching in German and English.
