Work­ing field:

The Process Dynamics and Operations Group is looking for a new colleague for participation in research and teaching. Specific tasks within the project are:
  • independent organization and conduction of exercise classes in process optimization and process simulation, support in classes on data science in engineering
  • supervision of theses (Bachelor, Master)
  • research in the area of data-driven modeling as well as modeling of uncertainty in chemical engineering; optimization under uncertainty

The department is based in chemical engineering, but candidates from other engineering disciplines or backgrounds are always welcome. Regarding the described position, we are interested in colleagues with the following qualifications and interests:


  • successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in a suitable discipline
  • excellent knowledge in chemical engineering, especially in process dynamics, are essential
  • prior knowledge in the areas of process simulation, process optimization, and data-driven modeling
  • extensive experience in the development of python frameworks (e.g., using scikit learn or TensorFlow)
  • We are a very international team. Hence, good language skills in English and/or German are required; the willingness to acquire the missing language skills is expected.
