The Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences, Department of Educational Sciences, invites applications for a Full Professorship for ‘School and Instructional Research’ (W3) starting as soon as possible.
Full Professorship for ‘School and Instructional Research’ (W3)
The tasks to be performed within the framework of the professorship include research and teaching in the field of school and teaching research for upper and lower secondary education (teaching in the general teacher training courses Bachelor and Master, supervision of school internships) and participation in exams and in the self-administration of the university.
In view of the priorities already established at the institute, the future post holder should be theoretically and empirically identified in at least two of the research focuses of school and teaching research listed below:
School theory (school and society)
Planning and design of instructions, curriculum research
(Intervention-)studies on learning and performance behavior
Empirical school and teaching research (preferably via quantitative approaches), in particular research on school and teaching quality
Pedagogical perspectives of the digitalization of school and teaching
General didactics in their cross references to subject didactics
School organization and school development
Furthermore cooperation with the other research and teaching units of the Institute of Education, with the Professional School of Education (PSE), the Interdisciplinary Center for Educational Research (IZBF), the Institute for Educational Quality Improvement (IQB), the Berlin Institute for Integration and Migration Research (BIM) and the State Institute for School and Media Berlin-Brandenburg is expected.
The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the ‘Berliner Hochschulgesetz’ and here in particular also those of § 100 (3).
