Theoretical and numerical research on the aggregation dynamics and self-organisation in complex colloidal and active fluids based on methods from statistical physics, particularly computer simulations (Brownian dynamics) and Markov-state modelling. The DFG-funded research will be carried out within the group of Prof. Klapp (www.itp.tu-berlin.de/klapp/). A PhD degree can be obtained.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics; very good knowledge in theoretical physics, in particular in the field of statistical physics (especially soft matter); good programming skills are necessary; highly independent and committed work attitude; experiences with many-particle simulation are very welcome; good command of German and/or English required; willingness to learn either English or German is expected.
