University Professor - salary grade W3
in the field of „Semiconductor components and microelectronic systems“.
Research in the field of electronic devices, high-frequency and THz devices, power semiconductors as well as multi-functional system integration in basic as well as in development and application areas. Participation in the research center "Microperipheric Technologies" of the TU Berlin in the fields of physical design of devices and systems, characterization and testing of electronic devices and systems as well as semiconductor and microelectronic technologies. Cooperation with Fraunhofer IZM possible.
Performing subject-related teaching tasks in the Bachelor's and Master's degree programmes in Electrical Engineering and Computer Engineering, willingness to take on compulsory courses in the Bachelor's degree programme as well as in service for other scientific and technical disciplines.
Candidates should fulfil the requirements for appointment at the professor level in compliance with § 100 BerlHG (Berlin Higher Education Act), including a completed academic education, qualified achievements in research (generally proven by PhD), additional research achievements (Habilitation, post-doctoral teaching, or equivalent qualification) and pedagogical didactic qualifications, to be given proof of by a teaching portfolio (for more information see TUB website, quick access no. 144242).
In addition, proven expertise in theoretical and experimental research in at least one of the above areas is expected. Relevant international experience as well as experience in personnel management, the organisation of complex projects and the acquisition of third-party funds are desirable. Proven practical (e.g. industrial) experience is considered an advantage.
Applicants are requested to submit a first concept of the research and teaching activities envisaged with their application. Experience in the acquisition of external funding above average is desired.
The willingness to offer teaching in German as well as in English language is also a prerequisite. Very good English language skills are required. The willingness to learn German is expected from Non-German speaking applicants.
