Work­ing field:

At the Depart­ment of Meth­ods of Product Devel­op­ment and Mechat­ron­ics you will be involved in the topic of Addit­ive Man­u­fac­tur­ing. In this con­text, you will work in the team of the depart­ment at Werner von Siemens Centre for Industry and Sci­ence (WvSC) in cooper­a­tion with part­ners from industry and sci­ence. The focus is on the meth­od­ical devel­op­ment of design con­cepts in the field of Addit­ive Man­u­fac­tur­ing (DfAM) and the applic­a­tion to elec­trical actu­at­ors and gas tur­bines. Based on the find­ings, you will par­ti­cip­ate in the devel­op­ment of design guidelines for the applic­a­tion of new addit­ive man­u­fac­tur­ing pro­cesses.

You will rep­res­ent the top­ics in the joint research pro­ject, at national and inter­na­tional con­fer­ences, trade fairs and work­shops through sci­entific con­tri­bu­tions and demon­stra­tions and instruct stu­dent employ­ees. The pos­sib­il­ity for a doc­tor­ate is given.


  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted sci­entific uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in mech­an­ical engin­eer­ing, phys­ical engin­eer­ing or sim­ilar
  • very good know­ledge of design meth­ods and meth­od­ical product devel­op­ment
  • very good know­ledge of CAD sys­tems, ideally Siemens NX addit­ive man­u­fac­tur­ing and PLM
  • struc­tured and pro­fes­sional work­ing method
  • advanced skills in ger­man and eng­lish lan­guage in speech and writ­ing
  • know­ledge and interest in the field of addit­ive man­u­fac­tur­ing of metal­lic com­pon­ents desir­able
