under the reserve that funds are granted - part-time employment may be possible
This is a scientific position in the chair of Internet of Things for Smart Buildings. In particular, this includes working on a project funded by the Investitionsbank Berlin (IBB) in cooperation with a large industrial partner and several research institutions on the field of smart experts via artificial intelligence. Independent research work is to be carried out in the fields of dynamic modeling, machine learning, numerical optimization, expert systems and related areas. This research work includes the development of new methodological approaches to deal with different sources of information and large amounts of data, as well as their implementation and dissemination in scientific publications. The position includes the option to prepare a PhD thesis in the mentioned research areas.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in Engineering or Computer Science with a focus on automation, control, numerical optimization, machine learning or related areas
Experience in at least two of the research areas: numerical optimization, artificial intelligence, machine learning & deep learning, automatic control
Experience in modeling of dynamic systems or decision support systems
Good programming skills and experience in developing simulation studies and managing large data sets
Passion for new technologies and development of open source code
Excellent organizational and communication skills
Very good written and oral language skills in English (at least C1) and German (at least B2)
Willingness to conduct interdisciplinary research
