Tech­ni­sche Uni­ver­sität Ber­lin - Fac­ulty V - Insti­tute of Land and Sea Trans­port Sys­tems / Trans­port Sys­tems Plan­ning and Trans­port Tele­mat­ics

The depart­ment of Trans­port Sys­tems Plan­ning and Trans­port Telemat­ics (VSP) deals with the mod­el­ing and sim­u­la­tion of traffic, eval­u­ation of trans­port pro­jects, ana­lysis of innov­a­tions such as autonom­ous driv­ing / mobil­ity-as-a-ser­vice as well as sus­tain­able design of trans­port sys­tems. Higher level goals are the research of strategies to develop sus­tain­able trans­port (CO2-neut­ral, NOx-neut­ral) sys­tems, which con­trib­ute to reach­ing envir­on­mental as well as cli­mate tar­gets and at the same time ensure mobil­ity as required by the soci­ety and the eco­nomy. For this pur­pose, an open-source-soft­ware for agent-based sim­u­la­tion of traffic sys­tems (www.matsim.org) is used, which is developed by our depart­ment.

Work­ing field:

  • Assist­ance with the pre­par­a­tion, acquis­i­tion and imple­ment­a­tion of pro­jects; elab­or­a­tion of research goals, con­cret­iz­a­tion and defin­i­tion of innov­a­tion top­ics, devel­op­ment of co-oper­a­tion mod­els with poten­tial sci­entific or indus­trial part­ners; organ­iz­a­tion and man­age­ment of meet­ings with indus­trial part­ners; devel­op­ment of net­work­ing, com­mu­nic­a­tion and know­ledge trans­fer strategies; devel­op­ment of fin­an­cial and organ­iz­a­tional con­cepts; writ­ing of pro­ject pro­pos­als in Ger­man and Eng­lish; organ­iz­a­tion of field trips: gen­eral pro­ject man­age­ment
  • Author­ing res­ult reports of research pro­jects
  • Col­lab­or­a­tion in in the depart­ment’s research and sup­port in teach­ing
  • Cooper­a­tion with national and inter­na­tional Part­ners

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted sci­entific stud­ies (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) in an engin­eer­ing dis­cip­line
  • Exper­i­ence in pro­ject man­age­ment and in pro­ject acquis­i­tion
  • Very good com­mand of Ger­man lan­guage and Eng­lish lan­guage, both orally and writ­ten
  • Very good com­mu­nic­a­tion skills
  • Very good abil­ity to work in a team
  • Quick per­cep­tion and under­stand­ing
  • Inde­pend­ent, organ­ized and pro­cess-ori­ented style of work
  • Very good know­ledge of Office applic­a­tions (text pro­cessing, spread­sheets, present­a­tions, file man­age­ment etc.)
  • Interest in top­ics of trans­port policy
Addi­tional desir­able skills:
  • First work exper­i­ence, espe­cially in pro­ject teams and tech­nical skills are of advant­age
  • Exper­i­ence with Cloud-based applic­a­tions
