Technische Universität Berlin, Faculty VI - Planning Building Environment – Institute of Civil Engineering, offers an open position of a
University Professor – salary grade W3
for the Chair of “Building Physics”.
The position holder shall conduct teaching and research in the area of building physics according to engineering science. The Chair is incorporated into the Institute of Civil Engineering. Teaching requirements are primarily in the bachelor’s and master’s civil engineering programs.
Fulfillment of the appointment requirements pursuant to Section 100 of the Berlin Higher Education Act (Berliner Hochschulgesetz - BerlHG), including a completed university degree (preferably in an engineering discipline), academic achievements (doctorate), a Habilitation or equivalent achievements (e.g. further academic publications), as well as an aptitude for teaching demonstrated by a teaching portfolio (further information available on TUB website, quick access 144242). Applicants must be able to conduct teaching in German and English. The requisite language skills were determined by the Academic Senate in its decision on language policy of 16.5.2018. The position holder is expected to
possess superior technical and methodological skills, particularly regarding experimental methods and simulation, as well as practical experience in the areas of building physics and building constructions,
possess experience in the acquisition and management of externally funded projects,
actively contribute to TU Berlin’s key areas of research and engage in academic self-management.
In addition to the duties established in Section 99 of the Berlin Higher Education Act, applicants are expected to possess the ability to lead staff in the advancement of junior scholars and women as well as in the area of gender & diversity.
It would be desirable if the training rehearsal were held in German.
