Research on the formation and properties of silicon-bearing clusters and nanoparticles relevant for astrophysics, astrochemistry (formation of interstellar molecules and dust grains) and material science within a DFG-funded project by means of modern optical and IR laser spectroscopy; possibility to obtain a PhD degree.
Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physics, chemistry or related fields; experience in some of the areas of lasers, optics, electronics, molecular spectroscopy, mass spectrometry, vacuum technology or quantum chemistry is desired. Good command of German and/or English required; the willingness to learn either English or German is expected.
