Research Assist­ant in the research group of Prof. Robert Weis­man­tel, Ein­stein Vis­it­ing Fel­low

Work­ing field:

Con­duct­ing inde­pend­ent research in the Ber­lin based team of Prof. Weis­man­tel (ETH Zurich) and Prof. Henk and Prof. Sku­tella (TU Ber­lin). The postdoc pos­i­tion is fun­ded by Prof. Weis­man­tel’s Ein­stein Vis­it­ing Fel­low­ship „Mixed Integer Pro­gram­ming“.

Require­ments:

  • Suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent) and doc­tor­ate in the area of math­em­at­ical optim­iz­a­tion or a related math­em­at­ical field; excel­lent dis­ser­ta­tion desired.
  • An ideal can­did­ate has solid back­ground in the the­ory of integer optim­iz­a­tion, the geo­metry of num­bers, lat­tice the­ory and com­plex­ity the­ory. It is expec­ted that an applic­ant can refer to pub­lic­a­tions or ref­er­eed pro­ceed­ings.
  • Good com­mand of Ger­man and/or Eng­lish required; will­ing­ness to learn either Eng­lish or Ger­man is expec­ted.
