The holder of the position has the possibility to work within a multidisciplinary, internationally oriented team, focusing on health systems, health services research, health economics and management, and health technology assessment. It is encouraged to contribute own ideas and skills. The work can be combined with a doctorate degree.
The Projekt "PROMoting Quality" pursues a double aim: to evaluate the influence of patient-reported outcomes (PROM) on treatment success and evaluate the cost-effectiveness of their measurement; and to evaluate different treatment options for patients with elective hip or knee arthroplasties based on the principles of value-based health care. These questions will be addressed in a randomized controlled trial. In the intervention group, PROMS will be measured upon admittance and discharge from hospital and periodically up to 12 months after surgery. In the control group they will only be measured upon admittance and at the 12 month mark. This data will be linked to claims data to evaluate the actual resource use for patients included in the study.
Spefically, the main tasks of the position holder will include the following:
quantitative data analysis and hypothesis Formation
literature search (national and international)
support for the organization of project-related meeting (e.g. preparing and conducting workshops)
development of scientific articles and other project outputs based on own initiative and after discussion with the project Group
the work can be combined with a doctorate degree

a successfully completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in a related discipline, such as (health) economics, public health, industrial engineering or medicine is required
excellent knowledge of German AND English is absolutely necessary
good knowledge of statistical methods and related software packages is required
relevant knowledge on health systems (Germany and internationally) is desirable
experience in working with German health system data (e.g. claims data) is desirable
