Work­ing field:

The research pro­ject PROV­ING (devel­op­ment and approval-accom­pa­ny­ing veri­fic­a­tion for aero­naut­ical com­pon­ents from gen­er­at­ive man­u­fac­tur­ing pro­cesses) is aimed at the devel­op­ment, val­id­a­tion and veri­fic­a­tion of a stream­lined, solid veri­fic­a­tion and cer­ti­fic­a­tion meth­od­o­logy for aero­naut­ical struc­tural com­pon­ents. For this pur­pose, ana­lyt­ical and numer­ical meth­ods for mod­el­ling and sim­u­la­tion of mater­ial and struc­tural beha­viour dur­ing the man­u­fac­tur­ing pro­cess (mater­ial pro­duc­tion sim­u­la­tion) under con­sid­er­a­tion of imper­fec­tions and struc­tural load (mater­ial struc­ture sim­u­la­tion) are developed and val­id­ated by means of a sample-pro­gram. The meth­od­o­logy is exem­plar­ily applied to a selec­ted, rep­res­ent­at­ive aero­naut­ical struc­tural com­pon­ent man­u­fac­tured from poly­mer mat­rix fibre com­pos­ites gen­er­at­ively in out-of-auto­clave tech­no­logy (OoA) eval­u­ated in cooper­a­tion with the European Union Avi­ation Safety AgencyEASA.

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity stud­ies (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent in aerospace engin­eer­ing, mech­an­ical engin­eer­ing or equi­val­ent engin­eer­ing sci­ences
  • extens­ive expert­ise and exper­i­ence in the cal­cu­la­tion and numer­ical sim­u­la­tion of fibre com­pos­ites
  • prac­tical exper­i­ence in man­u­fac­tur­ing and test­ing of fibre com­pos­ite samples
  • soft­ware skills: Mat­lab, Python or equi­val­ent; Finite Ele­ment Ana­lysis (e.g. ABAQUS); Microsoft Office applic­a­tions
  • very good writ­ten and spoken Eng­lish (C1) and good know­ledge of Ger­man (min. B1)

  • exper­i­ence in good sci­entific prac­tice
  • exper­i­ence in pro­ject man­age­ment
  • exper­i­ence with Sim­u­la­tion Soft­ware Altair Multiscale Designer or equi­val­ent
  • social com­pet­en­cies: Abil­ity to work in a team, reli­ab­il­ity, inde­pend­ent work­ing, com­mu­nic­a­tion skills
