The research project PROVING (development and approval-accompanying verification for aeronautical components from generative manufacturing processes) is aimed at the development, validation and verification of a streamlined, solid verification and certification methodology for aeronautical structural components. For this purpose, analytical and numerical methods for modelling and simulation of material and structural behaviour during the manufacturing process (material production simulation) under consideration of imperfections and structural load (material structure simulation) are developed and validated by means of a sample-program. The methodology is exemplarily applied to a selected, representative aeronautical structural component manufactured from polymer matrix fibre composites generatively in out-of-autoclave technology (OoA) evaluated in cooperation with the European Union Aviation Safety AgencyEASA.

2. development of a robust model-based verification system for fibre-reinforced composite
3. development of an integrated digital certification platform
successfully completed university studies (Master, Diplom or equivalent in aerospace engineering, mechanical engineering or equivalent engineering sciences
extensive expertise and experience in the calculation and numerical simulation of fibre composites
practical experience in manufacturing and testing of fibre composite samples
software skills: Matlab, Python or equivalent; Finite Element Analysis (e.g. ABAQUS); Microsoft Office applications
very good written and spoken English (C1) and good knowledge of German (min. B1)
experience in good scientific practice
experience in project management
experience with Simulation Software Altair Multiscale Designer or equivalent
social competencies: Ability to work in a team, reliability, independent working, communication skills
