Work­ing field:

Research in the frame­work of the DFG-fun­ded research pro­ject „Loc­al­iz­a­tion and iden­ti­fic­a­tion of mov­ing sound sources“ (LION):
  • fur­ther devel­op­ment of exist­ing source loc­al­iz­a­tion and ana­lysis meth­ods for mov­ing sound sources on trans­port air­craft
  • devel­op­ment and integ­ra­tion into the ana­lysis meth­ods of exten­ded source mod­els for a bet­ter ana­lysis of fan- and pro­peller noise, modal sound fields emit­ted from engine ducts, and of dipole sources that occur e.g. at high-lift devices
  • exten­sion of the SODIX (source dir­ectiv­ity mod­el­ing in the cross-spec­tral mat­rix) method to mov­ing sources

Require­ments:

  • suc­cess­fully com­pleted uni­versity degree (Mas­ter, Dip­lom or equi­val­ent), prefer­ably in engin­eer­ing, phys­ics, or related dis­cip­lines
  • exper­i­ence in tech­nical acous­tics, espe­cially in aeroacous­tics and meth­ods of acous­tic source loc­al­iz­a­tion
  • exper­i­ence with sig­nal pro­cessing meth­ods
  • very good pro­gram­ming skills and exper­i­ence with Python 3
  • good back­ground in the rel­ev­ant math­em­at­ics
  • basic know­lege of numer­ical meth­ods (CFD/CAA)
  • basic know­ledge of tur­boma­chinery and air­craft engines
  • com­pet­ence to present tech­nical and sci­entific con­tent in oral and writ­ten com­mu­nic­a­tion
  • abil­ity to integ­rate into a team
  • self-motiv­a­tion and tar­get ori­ent­a­tion
  • flu­ent (oral and writ­ten) in Ger­man and Eng­lish
