Work­ing field:

Teach­ing and research within the main focus of the depart­ment: Cog­nit­ive and applied lin­guist­ics, espe­cially text and dis­course the­ory, cog­nit­ive and emotive speech ana­lysis as well as semantics and prag­mat­ics.

Require­ments:

  • suc­ces­fully com­pleted Uni­versity degree (Dip­lom, Mas­ter or equi­val­ent) prefer­ably in lin­guistic
  • prefer­ably an excel­lent mas­ter degree, pub­lic­a­tions and a clearly defined PhD pro­ject within the research focus of the depart­ment as proof of qual­i­fic­a­tion to sci­entific work and super­vi­sion of dis­ser­ta­tions (Bach­elor, Mas­ter)
  • exper­i­ences in aca­demic teach­ing and pro­found know­ledge of at least two of the fol­low­ing domains are pre­sup­posed: Cog­nit­ive media lin­guist­ics, text semantics, lan­guage and emo­tion, polit­ical com­mu­nic­a­tion, verbal viol­ence and hate speech
  • very good Ger­man (C2)

desir­able:
  • Know­ledge of applied and crit­ical speech ana­lysis with inter­dis­cip­lin­ary con­nec­tion to cog­nit­ive sci­ence are desir­able as well as interest in par­ti­cip­a­tion in the research of the depart­ment in the fields of “lan­guage, cog­ni­tion and emo­tion” and/or “text lin­guist­ics and per­sua­sion ana­lysis” and/or “hate speech”
  • good eng­lish skills
