Research assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

Working field:

  • Collaboration in the research of the department, independent work on a research project in the field of machine safety of machine tools
  • Development of an innovative measuring system for the optical detection of ageing phenomena of polymer materials
  • Planning, implementation and evaluation of experimental ageing and impact tests
  • Development and validation of statistical models to describe the ageing of polymer materials
  • Transferring the findings into teaching
  • Knowledge transfer to industry
  • Presentation of research results to industry representatives and scientists at (inter)national specialist conferences and trade fairs
  • (Inter)national, scientific travel activities

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed scientific university studies (diploma, master’s degree) in mechanical engineering or related engineering sciences
  • Knowledge in the fields of machine tool technology and materials science
  • Good knowledge of technical mechanics
  • Knowledge of the chemical resistance of polymers
  • Experience in scientific data analysis and evaluation
  • Confident handling of MS Office products
  • Good knowledge of German and/or English required; willingness to acquire the respective missing language skills

Optional criteria:

  • Willingness to undertake business trips (national, international)
  • Intention to do a doctorate and scientific work in a multidisciplinary team
  • Willingness to work in laboratories and on machine systems (incl. maintenance and care)
  • Independent, systematic and structured way of working
