Research assistant (Praedoc) (m/f/d)

with 65%part-time job
limited to 31.12.2024
Entgeltgruppe 13 TV-L FU
reference code: BNG-03

Working field:

Job description:
The scope of the scientific work is mainly defined by the DFG-funded project “Probing and
modeling of transport properties of hydrogels“, which is part of the SFB 1449 (TP A03) and is
hosted by the Emmy Noether research group “Bionanointerfaces”. The successful candidate
will further develop and apply methods involving microscopy, which have been recently
established in the research group and allow to image and quantify the transport of
macromolecules, supramolecular complexes, and mesoscopic structures in synthetic and
native hydrogels (e.g., mucus). This work will focus (but is not restricted) to the synthesis and
functionalization of polymers that enable to form hydrogels exhibiting well-defined properties.
This work will be conducted within the framework provided by the SFB 1449, so that the
successful candidate will have access to state-of-the-art instrumentation and will become
part of a vibrant scientific community.

Requirements:

Requirements:
Diploma or Master degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics or in a related discipline.

Desirable:

  • Good Master’s degree or Diploma in Chemistry, Biochemistry, Biophysics or in a related discipline
  • Experience in employing optical microscopy (e.g., confocal microscopy) for conduction diffusion- and/or single particle tracking experiments
  • Advanced skills and experience in the synthesis and functionalization of polymers
  • Capability to independently solve scientific problems
  • Very good English language skills
