Full Professorship for ‘Historical Dictatorship Research with focus on National Socialism’ (W3)

Working field:

The Department of History of the Faculty of Arts and Humanities invites applications for a Full Professorship for ‘Historical Dictatorship Research with focus on National Socialism’ (W3) to be appointed to the next possible date.

Requirements:

Applicants are expected to have expertise in historical dictatorship research and in the history of National Socialism in teaching and research.

To be appointed to the professorship at HU Berlin, an outstanding academic personality is desired who can provide a high degree of familiarity with different research fields and methods in German and international contemporary history. Methodologically innovative and publicly visible research and an internationally oriented research profile are expected.

Further expected are excellent international research activities, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications (and a habilitation or habilitation-equivalent achievement or a second monograph), extensive university teaching experience, preferably international, experience in the acquisition and implementation of third-party funded projects, the ability to teach courses in German and English is highly desirable.

The applicants must meet the legal requirements for professorial appointments in accordance with § 100 of the `Berliner Hochschulgesetz`.
