Working field:

  • Design of dielectric (DE)-based basic functionalities within the collaborative DFG project Cooperative elastomeric multi-actuator platform (CALMAR) within the SSP KOMMMA
  • Modelling, design, fabrication and investigation of multilayer DE actuators
  • Combination of the DE actuators with further elastomeric actuators of the project partners to create a holistic cooperative multi-actuator platform
  • Development of a model-based multi-variable control for the holistic multi-actuator platform considering the self-sensing properties
  • Realisation, investigation and demonstration of the cooperative multi-actuator platform together with the collaborative project partners
  • Coordination and implementation of project meetings with project partners
  • Preparation and presentation of scientific publications
  • Coordination of student assistants

Further information will be provided by Prof. Dr. Maas (Tel.: +49 (0) 30 314-21177, email: juergen.maas@tu-berlin.de)

Requirements:

  • Successfully completed university degree (Master, Diplom or equivalent) in physical engineering, mechanical engineering, in the field of mechatronics or similar
  • Excellent knowledge and strong creativity in designing and developing micro-mechatronic systems
  • Extensive knowledge of the design of multi-variable and non-linear control systems, preferably for distributed systems
  • Experiences concerning smart materials and in particular modeling modelling of dielectric (DE) transducers desirable
  • Very good knowledge and experience in the field of analytical modeling, and numerical simulation based on multiphysics tools like COMSOL
