Research Assistant with teaching duties - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen - 1st qualification period (PhD candidate)

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

We research and teach in three main areas: Energy Engineering, Indoor Environmental Quality and Contamination Control.

The research projects are mostly application-oriented and practical. As an example, we investigate the possibilities for CO2-neutral heating/cooling supply of buildings and entire neighborhoods. The focus is on the entire process from production, distribution, storage and control to usage in the room. In addition, a further team of scientists at our department is experimentally investigating the possibilities. In addition, another team of scientists at our department investigates experimentally and numerically aspects of thermal comfort and air quality. Our third team focuses on the dispersion of airborne contaminants of all kinds for different types of indoor environments and develops ventilation protection concepts that can be applied to a wide variety of spaces and their applications.
We are looking for people who are interested in applied research and who can contribute to making the future of buildings CO2 neutral and to providing a comfortable and healthy environment for the occupants.
The position offers the opportunity to participate in research and teaching in the areas outlined above. The possibility of a doctorate is given.

Requirements:

Successfully completed university degree (diploma, master's degree or equivalent).
Knowledge in the field of building services engineering, energy and process engineering, mechanical engineering with a focus on technical building equipment (TGA) and indoor air technology is required.
We are looking for a person with in-depth knowledge at a scientific level in one of the following research methods:
  • CFD simulations (prefgerably CCM+, openfoam)
