Research assistant - salary grade E13 TV-L Berliner Hochschulen

part-time employment may be possible

Working field:

  • participation in research of the chair, independent work on a research project in the field machine tool safety of milling machines
  • planning, execution and evaluation of experiments
  • perform finite-element-calculations, evaluate and compare the results with experiments
  • optimization of innovative milling tools for high-speed machining
  • knowledge transfer to industry and education
  • presentation of research results to industry representatives and scientists at international conferences and trade fairs
  • international, scientific travel activities

Requirements:

  • successfully completed university degree (Diplom, Master or equivalent) in natural or engineering sciences (e.g. physical engineering, mechanical engineering, physics)
  • knowledge of manufacturing processes and machine tool technology
  • knowledge of technical mechanics
  • experience in performing finite element calculations
  • willingness to carry out business trips (national, international)
  • intention to obtain a doctorate and to work scientifically in a multidisciplinary team
  • good knowledge of MS Office
  • independent work in laboratories and on machine tools (including maintenance and overhaul)
  • independent, systematic and structured working method
  • advanced skills in German and English language in speech and writing
